Senior Campaign Director

EWG is seeking a Senior Campaign Director to support the development of and be responsible for executing EWG’s state-based pesticide campaign strategy, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring progress toward campaign outcomes.This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Government Affairs. The goal of this work is to coordinate EWG’s efforts to advocate for state laws and regulations to protect consumers, workers, and rural communities from harmful pesticides.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordinate cross-team planning and execution to ensure unified strategy and effective implementation to build support for state legislation and regulations addressing pesticide harms.
- Advance state legislative and regulatory advocacy on pesticides as part of EWG’s Government Affairs team.
- Coordinate with EWG’s Communications Team to develop and execute a multi-channel communication plan that advances the goals of this campaign
- Collaborate with EWG’s Outreach Director to mobilize advocates and build support for state legislation and regulation related to pesticides.
- Integrate scientific research into campaign strategy and messaging, in collaborating with EWG’s Science Team,to highlight the harms caused by pesticides.
Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of professional experience in campaign management, including experience at the state level.
- Bachelor's degree in political science, communications, or a related field.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content.
- Strong ability to translate complex scientific or technical information into accessible, actionable messaging.
Location
Washington, DC. EWG operates in a hybrid work environment.
Compensation: Annual salary range of $120,000 - 150,000. Salary is commensurate with experience. EWG offers fully paid, excellent health care, paid parental leave and a tax-deferred 403(b) plan, including matched contributions.
